Bicicletada is the brazilian version of the Critical Mass created in 1992, San Francisco.

Anyone who believes in the unfeasibility of the current transportation system based on the automobile is a member of the bicicletada. Anyone who fights for a cleaner air in the cities, for a healthier way of life , for the end of countless deaths on the roads, for the right that everyone has to come and go, anyone who dreams with the day our children will be able to play on the streets again and we will be able to sit on the porch to watch the world pass by. In any of these cases, consider yourself a member of the bicicletada.

This dream is shared throughout the world, there are a lot of groups that believe in those ideas all over the country and all over the world (London, Portugal, Chicago, Budapest, Brussels, Tel Aviv, Montreal, and many others). See compilation at Critical Mass Info.

Ous most traditional activity is the monthly ride through downtown Curitiba, preferably in the main streets and avenues when we talk to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. It happens on the last Saturday of the month at 10a.m.
